    Thank you Cathy!

OMG, The amazing gifts that I opened last night just blew me away. I am so humbled. One of my sewing goals now for 2018 will be to up my game for next year's gifts. Cathy, thank you so very much for all the absolutely awesome gifts you sent. Mine certainly pale in comparison. I will get pictures later today and post them. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

That's exactly how I felt when I opened Beth's gifts. And then you see everyone's gifts that were given and received I need to do more then just "up my game". Was thinking of not joining for 2018.

You do not need to "up your game!" in any way. The items I received are all well thought out and beautifully executed. I've already had a few of the family giving some of them the covetous eyeball!
Iam gong to have to check suitcases before they leave!

Georgetta, PLEASE don't give up! Some of us have many years of experience, some of us are just getting started. You have a very caring and generous heart. That isn't something to discount!
What you didn't see in that box were the two failed tote baskets because I forgot about the directionality of the print and how to make it "right reading" when I sewed it together. The pirate language when the mini-quilt didn't end up as mini as I wanted and I had to go with plan B, or more like E or F! Nor did you see the panic because I was still stuck on which season I was going to chose for January, and I was September! (Thank my husband and some goat friends for the answer to that one!)
We all have challenges, and we only grow when we face them. I learned some new techniques with this swap, and I look forward to 2018!

So don't any of you give up! Come play with us again!

Ginny, I found the care card for the water bottle in my school bag. I'll tuck it in my thank you card. Basically, wash everything in warm soapy water, but not in the dishwasher. Don't soak the painted surface for too long or the paint will soften and chip.

Ok Cathy thanks . I was so tired tonight after work, I didn't get those pictures taken but I wanted to let you know that the salmon was part of our Christmas Eve celebration so there won't be s picture of that. It was delicious and everyone enjoyed it and was quite amazed that it was a gift from someone in a quilt group Secret Santa from across the country. I just simply explained to them that we are quite a creative and wonderful group.

Georgetta, please join in again. You put thought and care into the gifts and that's what makes them wonderful. I have found that doing this swap has helped my creativity tremendously and I have learned a lot. Stay with us please

I am so glad you enjoyed your salmon! Sharing it makes it even better!
That smoker was the best gift I ever bought my husband. He can turn out some pretty impressive stuff out of that baby. While it's not a traditional quilted fabric gift, it was a close to homemade as anything else that was in the box!
Rest up Miss and don't worry about the photos. You'll get around to them.
I started my book today! (My MIL is really eyeing that tote bag, but she can't have it. Although now I know what to make her for her birthday.)
HOW did you get those scalloped quilting lines so perfect? I noticed them on the sea star, and then again when I laid out the star runner today.
Did you find the long doll needle in the pincushion? I wasn't sure how to send that, but you were going to need it to make one from that pattern.

Those scalloped quilting lines are from a special stitch on my sewing machine. I really love it. Yes, I found the needle. Thanks for including that. I stayed home from work today to get some more rest and then I was able to get the pictures taken and upload them. Going through all the things you sent me just blew me away again! Your work is awesome. I will aspire to become as good as you are. Thank you so much again. I am going to go sit down with a cup of tea and look through the potholder book to get some ideas.
