    since I'm new...

I think this is a fabulous cause. I had a NICU baby myself and those nurses were a godsend! so I'm thrilled to support this mission, but I'm not sure what to do... I saw the thread on sizes, so I'm good there. What else? quilted or tops? any specific "themes" to avoid or include? If I quilted, include batting and prepared binding? I don't know how to quilt, so I also don't know how to sandwich :-)

    looking forward to participating!

Kathe, we aren't real big on themes. We generally stick to boys, girls, or either. The PICU serves children of all ages so just about anything is appropriate. I have people that send several completed quilts a year, and others that send me tops to finish up. As far as learning to quilt, you have come to the right place for help with that. Just about anything is acceptable, except tied quilts. It can be hand or machine quilted. just not tied. Batting is a personal preference, and the hospital does not care what kind is used. Mostly welcome to the group. If you need an answer right away, you would be better off sending me a PM. because I don't always check this page daily.
