It is nice to know our direction now, so I can cut all my fabrics at once and put away the ones I don't need anymore (what is left of 'em that is). I will be making mine a little larger because I found fabric with purple, teal, yellow, orange, green and pink (it has geese on it and kinda disappointed we didn't make flying geese, maybe next year eh?)

I will miss clues coming out on Friday. I still haven't worked on clue 6 other than figuring out my method

I wasn't, Carah: the blocks are not set on point -although they look like they were. Much easier this way!
I have decided to make 3x3 blocks instead of her 4x4, and have already started assembling the (24) sashing strips I need.
I only have one yellow fabric I can cut 3 1/2" squares from, so that part is going to be constant.

Feels like a lot came to us in this last lesson with reveal. But maybe that is a good thing, on the other hand, because so many are trying different things with the yellows. I have a yellow that is kind of a toned sunflower yellow. It's a toile print that I am using as the backing. I'm thinking maybe that center could be the toile. Has anyone tried making HSTs with magenta and yellow? I am going to make some and get a layout going. Although I have to go out and by the time I get back the daylight will be gone. So pictures won't do the layout justice. I will have to get on the sewing today and be ready to post pictures tomorrow while I have a lot of daylight. I am not sewing anything together until I am completely satisfied after seeing the sashings with the blocks too.

I plan to change my original yellow to a lighter one. I also like the look of the HST yellow too.......I will see what it looks like when I get the clues done. I won't get to touch it until next week.

I am sooo far behind. I have the 4-patches sewn and the magenta triange-in-a-squares started, but that's as far as I got before the holidays. >.<

I was glad about the reveal, too. I ended changing my yellow for a different shade that I like better. I still need to do about half of the last qst's before I put it together.

It will be next week before I can do the last two clues. Looking at the number of persons in this group vs the pictures, I think we are all behind.

I eliminated half the yellows I had originally planned to use and only kept the soft golden toned ones. I'm also thinking still about that HST of yellow and purple instead of the squares. I had to put everything away, so now I need to drag it back out and get set up for some serious weekend sewing time. I'll get caught up fairly soon, I think.

I had my last day of PT, but will still be having nurse visits here next week. Saw the doctor today, and my infection still isn't clear. More antibiotics and at least another ten days of no sewing for me.

It's good I have all of the clues saved, and it is nice to see alternate layouts and the difference with bright vs soft yellows. Can't say that I'm not bored as...and a bit envious of others' progress though. On day I'll get caught up with my own aspirations for this project.
