221 Four Patches from Neutral Fabrics

    I'm happy with this clue!

I probably should have more variance in my neutral fabrics, but what I have will have to do.

I really wish I could start sewing today!

I wish I could start sewing today, too. Mom made me sleep over two nights in a row, and I have a throw to finish FMQ before I can set my machine up for piecing again. I'm probably 3/4 done, but I quilted another one I had at Mom's all day yesterday, and I'm in too much pain to do any marathon cutting or sewing for a little bit. On the plus side, I'll be starting the MQ with two newly completed quilts beside me.

I have been quilting for years and am self taught. I have learned so much from Bonnie on this already. I did not know to put the line on the fabric when cutting this would explain many of my inaccuracies of the scant 1/4 inch. The paint swatch technique I will use from now on as this is very easy to get things to match. I am looking forward to more lessons.
Blogging ahead.....research in quilting and sewing with a dab of cooking/recipes too.

I got 200 done before I had to stop today. Mine are not very scrappy.

I got 20 done after finishing some FMQ.

That cutting tip is pretty good, but I went so slllloooowww at first because of it. Those 20 blocks are the most perfect I've ever done, though. I hope to get faster with cutting and seam spinning tomorrow.

This year I am not going for the large size quilt -my last 3 Bonnie Hunter projects are languishing in the state of tops-waiting-to-be-quilted. I pulled out my 2" neutral strips and made my first 108 units. I'm stopping there for clue #1.

I've got 90 finished now, and the strips for the rest sewn together and ready to press and cut tomorrow. If I don't end up doing the full size, I can always make a second with different colors...if I love the pattern. I'm still shooting for full size.

Lourixe, I think I am going with the smaller size too.

I am finally started on my first clue this morning at 4 am when I couldn't sleep.

Love Angela's neutrals! Wonder if they are from a particular line. I must PM her as those are the colors I was envisioning for mine, just not that many.

Finished my 4 patches. I'm doing a half size of the pattern, so I did 120. Now I'm impatient again for the next clue. Of course there are always the ufos.
