I don't have an account yet because I've not made any quilts yet! I always read the forum and have learned alot and have quite a stash built up with good intentions but depression sets in and nothing gets done! I know if I started I probably would get out of the funk......but do I? Nope. I am going to start today! Your quilts are so beautiful. I will start with that inspiration!
Oh Jean, I hope you get out of the funk soon. I have battled depression since childhood, and quilting has been one activity that has been very helpful. I have been where you are many times, but when I do get my butt off the sofa and into my quilting room, I am better off. I say to myself, "Since you are not doing anything right now (thinking about the "things that need to get done"), why don't you do something quilting related? It will distract you from the depression, you will enjoy the activity (yay for enjoyment!), and you will be doing something that results in beauty and utility." When having to make the choice between depression and doing nothing, and depression and quilting, choose the later.
Hoping that you will be feeling better soon.

Thank you Sylvia.... you're right. I do battle with what needs to be done and quilting.....and nothing gets done. Been on antidepressants for 20 2 years and I know what my problems are... just need to deal with them. Thanks for the kind response.

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.
