    Hi Bec,
Thanks for you nice comments on my pictures.
On the "Dutch" quilt I added ribbon, I did not like the way the quilt came out so I've been thinking for a while what to do......it did not look finished. Then the ribbon came to my mind, I stiched it on with invisible thread, after that the quilt looked finished!
My friend Jackie in Atlanta loved it!

    Have a great day,

Thanks, Bec, for your comment about my latest quilt. I took the idea from a book call "Sweet and Simple Baby Quilts" by Mary Hickley. I added the flying geese border to mine to jazz it up a bit since I only had plain and small prints flannels in my stash.

Oh no--not even close to boring! You did an excellent job of using the red to give the quilt movement...and being on the diagonal is always interesting and fun for the eye! Such lovely colors...I am always amazed at how some quilters take the simplest of patterns and make them look so complicated and beautiful by selecting colors and details...again, I love your quilt and your quilting...I keep going back to look at the pictures! ha ha

For this quilt I used my Viking Mega Quilter. It's a domestic machine that has three extra inches between the needle and the body of the machine, 10" instead of the usual 7". It is not on a frame but is sunk into a large draftman's table. It's nice because it has so much flat space behind the machine for the weight of the quilt. I also have a Viking Platinum 750 with the 7" space and have quilted a king sized bed quilt on that. That sure was a lot of work! I could never fit a longarm into my little farmhouse and can't afford to have a professional do my quilting (I'd like that sometime) so I plug along with what I have.

Hi Bec, Thanks for the nice comment about my butterfly quilt's quilting. I freehand it. It's an easy and fun way to stipple. I found it in the book by Sue Patten called, "Quilting Possibilities...Freehand Filler Patterns."
