Thanks so much - that is a great reminder for me to look for gooseberries tomorrow at the market. And good to know that the red ones haven't as much flavor. Have a wonderful Holiday! - Lilly
Bec, I would love to somehow get your pics of the scrappy quilts to use as future references. I tried to copy and paste them into my user notes, but that didn't work. Do you know how I can save them for future use? Coleen 1 Thanks bec thanked for this post
Thanks so much Bec! I am not a fast quilter because I tend to get slowed down by the detail work but I don't think I would be happy doing it differently! You have some very beautiful work yourself Bec! I so love your Dresden Flower Garden! It is wonderful workmanship and I just love the quilting and fabric choices! 1 Thanks bec thanked for this post
Thank you so much for the info and the links. This looks like the perfect little bag. I want one to use as a purse when I travel and is small enough to stuff into my carry-on tote for the plane. If I can get my act together, I can have it for the fall get together.
Thanks for getting back with me!! I am going to check out the link and definitely remember to put your input in on the pattern. Thanks again!!
Looks like I commented once before on that gorgeous quilt! I guess I probably will again next time I see it on the random pictures! It's amazing..
Bec, that is great! Does it look like it would be hard to make?
Bec...thank you for the comments about my mother's quilts. She loved making them and giving them to family and friends. I think she may have sold 1 of her many quilts, the rest were gifts. I hope you can find the patterns that you like. Mom was really good at looking at pictures of quilts in magazines and figuring out how to make it. The Eagle quilt that she made for me I found in a magazine and said how much I loved it...she made it for me. I have some of that talent of looking at a quilt and figuring it out. I wish she were still here to share my love for quilting now...but I know she is watching me and I have a picture of her in front of my sewing area and I talk to her. Crazy I know!
Sewing the binding is one of my favourite parts. Maybe it's because I can see that I'm nearly finished. It's not so much my hands that get sore but my finger from pushing the needle. It has been known for me to pierce my skin! A small price to pay
Thanks bec! It is a stunning quilt - I can only hope to be half that good some day. You are a great inspiration to us newbies! Lisa
