  1. Thank you for the information. I think I understand. I'm not sure on the 1 1/4 " in. I know that when a DP9 is cut, that you cut 2 1/2" in of the center square in 2 directions. Is that what you meant?

Brook, it was actually a D4P (disappearing four patch) using two white and two prints in opposite corners. I used five inch squares. After sewing together, cut about 1 1/4 in. On each side of all the seams. Then leave the corner pieces alone and turn all the other pieces around so their print side is next to the white corners and resew. Sounds confusing, but if you look closer at the quilt you should see what I mean. I hope that makes some sense to you. Good luck. Can't wait to see what you make.
  3. Ok Brook, I have you down for Ryan. Cyndi said that they wouldn't have to be very big so my best guess would be smaller than a twin. I will PM you with Cyndi's address and Thank You so much! This is really exciting being "sort of" in charge of this. I love this forum and being part of such a great group of people!!!
  4. I looked at your albums... your quilts are beautiful! Amazing workmanship! Mind if I steal a few pattern ideas? I am currently working on some to sell at a yard sale I am going to be having, kind of like a craft/yard sale...and I am looking for "quick and easy"...and have found squares are both and the designs you can do with a square are seemingly limitless!

    Hi Brook,

thanks for your compliments. The Summer Breeze quilt is my latest and I used a disappearing 4 patch (D4P) pattern which Blondie walked me through. She has a lovely red and white one in her albums. The borders were just made up as I whent along like all my quilts so far. I've just recently got some patterns to try. I think they might make the process much easier for me; we'll see.
