Thanks for the comment on my twall bag Leigh. I just love twall fabric.
  2. Instead of sewing them all together flat as Jenny shows...sew each one closed, making each one a tube of its own ....cuff, piping and case. (This also means you don't fold the cuff in half...if you cut it 18 inches for a folded 9 inch cuff....you'd just sew it in a tube of 18 inches) Then layer they together inside each other...case, piping 18" cuf on outside. Sew side and bottom seam...then open... case is finished, piping is fine, and then you press under 1/2" hem on the cuff edge, then fold it over to encase the seams where they were all sewn together, and stitch it closed...hand stitich, SITD or other deco stitch, but right there on the seam allowances so that is inclosed. This way you don't have that seam showing at the case opening. Only visable seams are the side and bottom....
  3. Thanks Lee. I watched the tute and it is good...only I figured out how to enclose the side hem inside the cuff so it isn't shown, (I have a thing about that seam! I make them out of twin flat sheet...4 per sheet, and hate how that seam shows at the edge!) But her way is cool and I am making one for each of my grand kids for Valetines day gifts...I am not allowed to give candy, so I figure a fun nite's sleep should fun!

I see you love taking photos too! So do I. I just can't get film for my camera anymore. And no one to develop them either. You'd think living where Kodak was born would make a difference, but NO! I used to play on the grounds of the George Eastman Mansion on East Ave. in Rochester, NY.
Kodak was our biggest employer. You knew you made it if you got a job there. No more though. Sad isn't it. I have a Pentex camera K1000. Very manual but I liked setting my own f-stops and all. Now I have to wait and get a digital camera with an SLR. Can't wait. My husband almost bought me a Nikon for Mother's Day. Just a little to pricey right now. We are watching every penny because of the economy. No one is buying, so we aren't selling much. Hugs, Jan L.

Thank you Leigh for the comments on my mug rug. I sent this one to my cousin in Wisconsin. She loves birdwatching just as much as I do! I don't know what she is using it for but hopefully a cup of coffee and a snack!
