Hi Sewbee, Just finished looking through your albums. All of your quilts are beautiful and the detail work is amazing. I really like the iron quilter bumblebee! Do you do most of your applique work by machine or by hand?

    Hi Sewbee,
Your table runner with the stem, birds, and butterfly are gorgeous. I love the blue birds!

Hi Linda: Thanks for your comments on my album. A compliment coming from you goes a long way--your work is fantastic! But, to answer your question, no I didn't use a template to do my feathers. I just drew out the line for the stem and them winged it from there. Feathers are actually quite easy once you get the hang of it. I just love the look of feathers!

Hey, "Sewbee"! thank you for your explanation on the Flynn system. I don't want anything too big at this point, so it was good to hear from you and know measurements a little more. Most of my girlfriends who would want to "use" my system work on the larger quilts. I am just a newbie at everything, loving it a lot, but needing to learn so much! I read a lot, learn from all of you and think through ideas for many months before making any decisions on machines. I appreciate all your description. Thanks!
I also read a lot about a "Featherweight". Do you have this machine? Those who say something, usually are favorable. What are its attributes other than looking retro (I think)?

I am new to the Brother line,,, and have found a dealer here that impressed me enough to buy one... it was new to me just how wonderful these "Brother's" have become... but im' sold... his store front is just a place with big table set up with all the Brother's. i was amazed at what they can do... he's been in the machine repair business all his life with his Dad... knows everything there is to know about them all... my DH was impressed with him,,, (dh is a pecision machinist, so recognized his ability, they hit it off)...i bringing in my old elna "high speed" basic machine for repair... he did it no problem...
so i bought an Inovvis-80.... just could not resist... under 700.00 and has quite a repitoire... ( and is pretty speedy)... i like to strip piece...
I'm the girl with the "messy sewing room" , so it' still in the box,,, i've got a long overdue vacation coming May 18.. and AFTER THAT,, it's no excuse... clean up.. LOL.. thanks for getting back to me. have a good one. hugs B

Hey Linda, The Paducah quilt show was great. Me,Jean and my BIL had a great time.It was nice going with someone who appreciates all the hard work that goes into quilting as much as we do.Last year going with my sister was like dragging a ball and chain.ha ha She wasn't interested at all. Did you enjoy your visit too? What did you think of the winning quilt?
    Good talking to you.

Your quilting is empressive!! I only make lap size, crip size and table toppers. Do you think the Flynn system would be a good method for me. I can stitch in the ditch on my home machine, but was looking for the over all quilting on some quilts. What is the price range for this system. When I pay someone to quilt on their big machines it usually runs 75 to 100 dollars just for a lap quilt size. Thanks for you input. Pam

Thanks for that information. Hopefully I can find some time to try that one out. It is definitely added to my to-do list though. Have a blessed weekend ahead!
