  1. Sally,
You said 2,500 miles apart? Hey, we are practically neighbors! jUST KIDDING. My cousin lives in Beauleville, N.C. and my brother in law & his wife live in Gaston, S.C..
I am looking forward to your posting of the completed Christmas blocks quilts. Will talk soon.

The first swap involved making our own block. It had to be 12 inches and with a flower summer theme fabric. The second swap which we are just finishing involved making 2 block sets of Amish star with a color star on white/cream and a white /cream star on color using Christmas Fabric. We made 18 sets...keep one and send the rest off to Suzi in FLorida with a return envelope and postage money. There is talk of a swap in January so stay tuned. I plan on making two twin quilts out of my Christmas stars for the guest room.
Wish we did live closer. It is about 2,500 miles from me to you

Sure. no problem! It will be a fun thing to share in.
Oh and reading the other message, it is a doll but not a santa that the magazine commissioned. Either way, I keep busy with Santa orders this time of year.

I've not had much to show in quilting yet, but I'm learning. This site has been a real encouragement. I live close enough to MSQC to visit and know the staff, and feel this site extends the "family" atmosphere. I love it. Noticed the mention of Boston...my hometown, and understand your daughter's emotions.
Once Boston is in your blood - -there's a longing to return. My family came from Stoneham & Waltham, and I spent my childhood in Boston (Brookline and Jamaica Plains). I have wonderful memories of the dear ole' city. Nostalgia has taken me back many times for vacations make a piece of my heart long to return again. It's a beautiful city, an awesome heritage and history, and I think the only one I ever took the time to WALK through. From HARBOR to the COMMONS took only 7 hours of enjoyable walking on a cobblestone path and the site seeing is absolutely a stunning historical event to document with photos!
    Have an awesome day! Debi

Ouch must have been one tough pear! So nice you get to meet your pen pal after all this time.
My daughter lived in Boston, mostly in Sommerville. She got her grad degree in Special Education at Simmons and taught at the New England Center for Children in Framingham. She moved to Illinois and now lives in Michigan. She misses Boston terribly.
She just got a golden retriever this summer, he is adorable and so funny. Night before last she turned the shower on and went to hang up her clothes and when she came back she could not find Max anywhere. Lo and behold, he was in the shower enjoying himself!!
I still have a couple coupons but I have a fabric that I bought when I visited the Missouri Star Quilt Co. so I am trying to use that for the 4 quilts my client ordered. I need to get them done by December 1st. Good thing I have a week off coming up soon.
Well....have fun cleaning house. I came home early today to do the same thing, plus get this darn quilt sandwiched!

Hi Carol-Ann! What's new? Have you been working on anything special? I have not been able to get a single thing done since last weekend. I see you live in Massachusetts? I lived in the Berkshires for about 8 years!
    Take care!
    Patti
