  1. Hi Wendy, I don't mind at all. I am quilting 1/4" inside of each braid section V shape. It's alot of stopping and starting, but I think it's worth it. With careful pinning, I've only had to remove pins in the smaller sections at the top and bottom of each column while quilting, which saves alot of time. I can post a pic if you would like, just let me know. Cheers to you too!

I hope the link works, this is were I found the Octopus. In the moda bakeshop with the stuffed stuff.
  5. I love your QFK quilt and can't wait to see it quilted. I think the loop de loops is a perfect design for it. I am trying to get up the courage to try FMQ again, but I am still working on quilting the friendship braid quilt.

Thanks for the nice comment on my girl's QFK top . I'm quilting it now in loop de loops and it's moving along nicely. I keep thinking of the little one who will have it, and am just having a blast making it.
  7. You are so welcome for the info on the tutes. I just stumbled on them last night, they are kind of buried in the more recent but older ones.
The shift switch has been pretty rough, and working full time when I was used to part time added to the difficulty, I'm sure. After 11 years of 2nd, I am ready for the change to 1st, that's for sure. I work in healthcare and stayed with that in this job change, but now I am wishing I had checked into the banking world...I could use a bit less stress. I am sure retail is tough, and I am glad you are happy now with your job.

By the way, I meant to thank you for posting the mention of the applique tutes - I hadn't seen them, and you told me just in time for my afternoon off, so I really got to enjoy them. Thanks!

I've made the switch from shift to shift MANY times, working for a convenience store chain for 12 years. I know it's tough on you but first shift is usually so much more desirable I know it'll be worth it for you. I worked them all, and could adjust to third and first but hated second. We bought a business that needed me full time, so I left the workforce for about eight years. When I returned, I consciously chose banking, having observed the slow pace and minimal stress of small town banks, compared to retail. I'll never go back, that was hard work for sure.
  9. Hi Deb! So good to hear from you. Yes, the new job has had me pretty tied up, but it's slowing down a bit now. My somewhat part time hours started this week, so I will be having a bit more free time. I am enjoying it, that's for sure. It has taken awhile to make the switch from 2nd shift to 1st shift, but I think my body is finally adjusting. You take care too and I hope you are having a great day! Lola
