It's okay to make your quilt without washing your fabric first. When you wash your quilt the first time or two use about four of those color catchers by Shout. They work like a charm and I never have any problems. I do this all the time.

I am afraid my reds will run in the red and white Jacobs ladder quilt..should I wash my reds??
