Happy birthday Lorelei. Have a wonderful day.
  2. I've never heard of your method of measuring for the sashing...I managed to get one photo on of the strips, the next steps are still in the camera! I used a Blueberry Crumb Cake jelly roll which I bought for a good price on e bay! Is this the best way to get messages to you, do you get a notification? I am still trying to sort myself out here!

Thanks I just read your message I trimmed my sides too, the little "ears". I decided not to put sashings in between the braids, just a border. I had a slight rippling on one of the borders but it's something I can live with as it's very slight. I don't know why I got that as I measure my quilts vertically and horizontally through the middle where there is less stretch, then use that measurment to cut my borders, that usually keeps the quilt squared up.
  4. I'm not sure you will get this, Cathy F. I don't know how to answer you. You will need to remove the little 'ears' from the side of the strips, if like me you use a 1/4" foot, otherwise they throw the seam out. I have put top and bottom sashings on but I will have to remove them as they are bowed. The sashings between the strips are fine but there was a lot of 'give' in the top and bottom and I didn't want to put too much tension on and distort it. I have tacked the wadding/batting on it so will have a big square to handle but I will cope with that. i just have to be brave enough to start unpicking it and be firmer when stitching it on again. I would post pics but don't even know if you will get this I only just found your message! Sorry. Lorelei x

Are you going to straighten your edges before or after you do your sashings? I've never done this quilt pattern before and Jenny's tutorial doesn't say.
