  1. Missing you - hope all is well. I did think you finished up with your duties Stateside and had returned home. Miss your posts - hope it just means that you are off having fun somewhere.
  2. I had fun looking at the photos, Martha. I've got you beat on the little ones. If you look at the tabletopper I made (in albums) the little flower block border is 3" flower blocks. I paper-pieced those babies. No way would I have gotten any accuracy otherwise! Haha! Actually I paper-pieced all those flower blocks. I almost think it would've been easier to make them the traditional way.

    Hi Rebecca:
Thanks for the comments on my basket blocks. I really enjoyed making them and do hope to get them made into a quilt someday. There are 12 large blocks and 24 small ones. The easiest ones were the ones with the fewest half square triangles! And those little ones measure only 5", so they were a challenge to say the least. BTW, I posted pics of the remaining blocks. I finished them up sometime this winter and never got around to posting them. Have a look and see which you like!

You are so right. I wouldn't be surprised if she was selling copies. She denied that but she was a seamstress by trade. We sort of felt sorry for her.
Have a great Mother's Day. Hugs, Jan

Someone she knew and thought she was being dishonest. Plus we had noticed that she was wearing the same dress she had returned. Fabric and all. My Aunt finally confronted her and she admitted she had done it. Aunt Peg barred her from shopping there again. No they were not high end dresses. This was 1968 and the most expensive dress we carried was $25.00. The average dress was between $8.00 and $15.00.

1st, i'm a doofus... i think i was thinking of the "jelly roll start".. and i read a lot about that one,"not working well"... (then i don't dare try it)...i'll check it out again...

as for the pot roast... i get the "chuck/pot roast"... boneless,, that's what i think they call it...
my Mom always used a "bottom round"... way to solid for me ,, she did it on top of the stove all day... it does get tender, but not as good as the one i referr to..
it's usually in a more round shape and is tied around the middle... yep, there's FAT, but hey, i'm talking "good tasting" not low cal... LOL
When the "chuck" is cooked it literally can be pulled apart with forks... YUM (but i need to get a diet going)
Vacation beginning next Friday,, then it's time to get serious...
  8. Hi Sandy! That's great! I'm so glad it didn't turn out to be a "Why did I offer to do this?" I really hope one of these days I'll get some software so I can learn how to digitize. I'm working on a wedding quilt right now but will try out the design in a couple of days. I will post pics of the tablerunner when it's complete. It looks kinda boring right now but when I quilt that design and scallop the edge I think it will be darling. Thanks again, Sandy. Give Al a hug from me!
  9. Rebecca, we've made lots of progress so I've sent your file to Joe - sorry it is late Friday night when I do this. I can't thank you enough for allowing us to try this - Al finally figured out exactly how to do it RIGHT and we have both learned a lot of valuable information. Sure hope it works for you - there is one jump in it and that could have been avoided but I didn't have him redo it for me. Have a great weekend.
  10. Hi, seems we are both kinda late - I've been without internet connection since Monday and it has been difficult going through withdrawal. However, we did have computers up and running so Al took your design and refined it. I don't know why I didn't just take the design I had done and see what size that was! DUH. Told you I was a bit wacko. Anyway, things are really slowing for me and I have a new version - just want to test it out before sending it to you and maybe I can do that tomorrow. It kept Al from screaming too loudly while the internet was out. I will need your e-mail address again as I've deleted all the previous correspondence.

    Hugs
