I didn't find the scalloped border to be difficult, but you do have to plan it out a little so that you have all complete scallops from corner to corner.

Thanks for looking at my album. The pattern you asked about is called Dresden Flower Garden and in a book by that name. Written by Blanche Young and Lynette Young Bingham. It has been one of my favorite quilts.
