    July's UFO Number

I am sorry I am so late in getting this to you. It has been a busy month for me, with company, my niece's wedding, and some medical issues for both me and my dog! But all seems to be well at this time.

July's number is - 10! I hope it is something you all look forward to working on. And to recap, here are all the UFO numbers for this year: January - 6; February - 12; March - 7; April - 11; May - 3; June - 1

Thanks Sylvia. I'll go check my list. I know I didn't get my June project done..... just too much other "stuff" (mostly fun) happening. But I'll try harder this month.

Thanks for the new number! This is working out for me much better than last year and I am excited to work on this month's project! Just posted 3 finishes to the group and updates to my list. Made another goal but it's not a completed quilt, just a completed top.

Well, the numbers are still working...it's just me that's not working. One of these days, I'll get in there and get both quilts quilted in one day. Just have to get to that day...
Thanks Sylvia for keeping us moving forward. Hope life calms down for you.

Well, I got that one finished quickly by striking it off the list!!!!!!!!! I know I will never get to everything and that was the lowest priority so DONE!

I am working on all the handwork I can get to while we are traveling, as well as picking a pattern for the one that is only at that stage. Back to the machine in September, so hopefully things will move quickly after that. Great work on everything, everyone! This group does keep me on task and I have realized that is what I need at this stage. My creativity was being stifled by the huge pile of UFOs in the closet!

Sylvia....thanks for posting the July #. I am starting the quilting on an UFO tomorrow.
I am noticing a lot of spam mail on the forum. Is anyone else seeing a lot of spam posts? I know they are only bad if you open them and I am usually careful but did open a spam post this morning by mistake. I opened it from the main page....from the sidebar where recent posts are.
Gotta get to the sewing room(aka the corner of the dining room)

Sylvia, thanks for taking the trouble to draw the number, considering your circumstances... I hope you still get some time to sew as well!
Sew-what, spammers will always be quicker than moderators. I've been a forum moderator myself (on a Spanish forum) and there is no way I could keep watch 24/7. If you access M* forum in the morning before Karen does, there will be a certain amount of spam threads that she will erase as soon as she gets here.
About this month's project... I think I am going to cheat again and rearrange numbers. Of the 5 projects I finished so far, I think only the 2 first really corresponded to the # Sylvia had drawn. I am about to finish quilting my Monolog quilt that initially was #8 and "rebaptize" it as #1 which should have been June's project. For July, I am leaning towards Jamestown Landing because, although it is only in "finished-blocks-waiting-to-be-assembled" stage, at least I do have an idea of how I want to quilt it, which is more than I can say about the other projects on my list.

My #10 is done so I think I will just continue on my Hexagon quilt. I'm not sure I will get this one completed this year.

My #10 is to make a thermal shopping bag for warm weather shopping. Since I had it started last month It worked out perfectly. This wa my own design and is far from perfect. But I like it. Had to play with the zipper because once it was together it zipped the wrong way. Had to watch a tutorial to figure it all out. Here it is in case anyone wants to make a double zipper close in the center.

My #10 is Jenny's hexagon quilt...I've bought more optic white fabric that I had run out of before so I can do the sashing. I got the hexagon units sewn a year ago but ran out of the sashing so I ground to a halt. I did finish a small quilt out of the project that I use to pad the back of my recliner, but I think I have enough hexagons to make something sizable. I'm going to finish off ironing down my houses for June's project before I switch over to July's project, though. That will be a good stopping place.

Well my #10 is my long term project, hand quilting a Bow Tie quilt, that I was hopeing to finish by year end. But since i've already completed 7 of my UFOS this year I will make a valentine effort to finish the quilting on #10. I 'm already half done, so just got to stop starting new projects that will just end up on next year's list LOL.

Iris Girl - Thanks for the link. I have always wanted to make a Cargo Duffle. Oh boy, my "Want to do someday" list is getting as big as my "UFO" list. LOL

                            The Fantastic Finishing Group

                            About this Group

Do you have some UFOs (UnFinished Objects) that you want to finish? Are you having a hard time choosing what to finish next, or are you just not feeling motivated? This group is for you! We have a fun way to get those projects done in 2017.

                            Here is how it works.

First, you create a list, numbered from 1 - 12, of things you want to finish. Then, you post your list to this group. (You can edit and change your list at any time.)

Every month, this group will publish a random number between 1 - 12. We will each work on that number from our list. When you have finished your project, please post a picture here as well.

We’re here to support each other. It’s amazing how knowing what project to tackle helps to motivate us to finish what we start.
