Slab block from scraps for Canada 150 Big Quilt Bee

Last year for Canada 150, quilters were challenged to make slab blocks, which were assembled as 4x5 or 6x7 blocks for quilts. The goal was 1000 quilts to be donated to Ronald McDonald Houses across Canada. The criteria was to use at least one fabric from the Canada 150 collection. These were sent either quilted or many were being quilted at the Canadian quilt show in Toronto last June. I don't know what the final count was, but this was surpassed, doubled. And all from scraps. This was inspiring and they are all unique and beautiful and well received by families whose children are in hospital for long periods of time.

Enjoy life and do what makes you happy. Everything else will follow.

Every day I try to do one thing that challenges my comfort zone.

    What an amazing project!
