How I cut the LC pieces

The LC block I submitted was from the "Freedom Star" quilt I made for my son & DIL. (See my album.) I had never made a LC block before. I bought the ruler, but it was more confusing for me. It was easier to use my own Creative Grid rulers. I felt like I had more accurate cutting. I had a card table set up, then placed each unit in order on the table, starting with the red center, then progressing in order of sewing them. I squared up as I went along, e.g. at 6.5" & 8.5", & the final 12.5". It's an easy block to sew. JCY
