    February's UFO/Project Number

Hello to everyone! Some of you are probably ready to start on your next UFO/Project. The number for February is ..... 1. I hope it is something you will enjoy working on. I haven't looked at my list to see what my #1 is. (I'm still working on the January number, which was #3.)

Sylvia, thanks again for hosting the group and supporting and motivating us.
I think I am going to start shifting # though, haha as my #1 is my least favorite of the list and, besides, it is stored in my country house which is snow bound right now. I might as well keep working at #6 that I started when I was done with #3.

Lourixe - absolutely, make the switch! I switched January's because I really wanted to get a baby quilt done. We are still finishing our projects, and that is what is important.

Wow Sylvia, you picked the right number for me to continue the next step of the Village quilt so I maybe be done by spring after all!

I am still working on #3 but due for a full day of sewing tomorrow so hope to get it done.

Thanks for drawing February's number, for me it is the jelly roll quilt which was on my list last year!!! Yes, don't like it at all so have decided to cut in half to make 2 small throws for my caravan, I won't be using wadding as they need to be lightweight for storage so will use fleecy throws from IKEA for the backing (never sewed with fleece before so it'll be a learning curve for me. The season starts on 3rd March so will need to get moving!!!

#1 for me isn't a quilt but a crocheted afghan in progress for my son. I'm so happy this number wasn't chosen in the summer months when it would be too hot to have it on my lap while I work on it! I thought about switching my numbers too but really do want to finish up this afghan. It's been in progress for a while so it will be nice to finish it up.

My #1 is a HST chevron quilt. I have it pieced but need to quilt and bind it. I already have the backing and binding fabric so I should be able to get it on the frame soon. Good luck everyone!

I looked at #1 last night. Just need to add the boarder and have it quilted. Seems simple enough. We will see.

Geez, I need to pay attention to my list! I just posted my progress on Proud Mary thinking I didn’t meet my goal 3, but I did and I am halfway done with goal 4. I’m quilting it now and should finish it tomorrow. So I guess I need a new #4. That’s ok, plenty of candidates available. My goal 1 is perfect, which is appliqué on Down the Rabbit Hole. I have jury duty this month (don’t even ask how much I hate this). So an appliqué project will be perfect to carry along with me for the long hours I will spend sitting in uncomfortable chairs. Pray I don’t get chosen! And if chosen, pray I am rejected! Hate this!

My #1 is to start cutting my pieces for a log cabin quilt for my guest room. It's going to be basically black and white (well gradual shades of black to grey to white) with the traditional red square in the middle. I've got all my material, I just need to get a move on.

It's 10:30PM on January 31, and I just finished my January UFO! I'm so excited. Thanks for hosting us, Sylvia, because it was the desire to meet my publicly stated goal that kept me going tonight until I had a Fabulous Finish!!!!

Midge: I've been called in to jury duty a few times, and here's what I've noticed. The people who answer the lawyers' questions in great detail get excused; the people who just say yes or no are allowed to stay. I, being somewhat talkative, have been excused BOTH times that I was seated in the "potentiality panel." I think that the lawyers want people they can lead, not opinionated, busybodies who might form an independent opinion. (That's not meant as an insult to lawyers. They have an important job to do.)
Toni ... If I keep sewing long enough, will they make their own dinner?

GuitarGramma, I intend to be crystal clear when I am questioned about my understanding, values, etc. And yes, I will go into detail and use those $1 words. I want to be excused. It's not that I don't believe in our justice system including the jury of peers, I just don't want to spend time arguing with idiots. And that is what happened the last time I was on a jury, about 20 years ago. Let's just say I know how to stand my ground. Also, they better not select me for a homicide case because I will not vote for a death penalty. We shall see what happens. With my arthritis I really do not want to be stuck in a situation where I can't be free to move around a lot. As well as all the rest of the situation! Thanks for your perspective on this, and we shall see what happens.

One is done!!! Good luck on jury duty. Unfortunately, I have been on a couple of ugly cases (child abuse and child pornography). Being a special ed teacher working in a psych hospital, thought I would be excused. No such luck.

Loving all your projects for February! Number one on my list is to sandwich, quilt and bind my 'tumbler, leader-ender' quilt. It is a Bonnie Hunt project, possibly from 2016. I am looking forward to getting it finished. I think I am going to keep it for myself!

I was able to make some progress today. I pieced the back to my #1 and got it on the frame. I can only float my top and batting with my type of frame so I should be able to get that done tomorrow. Still undecided on how to quilt it. May jump in the deep end and try a pantograph.

                              About this Group

Do you have some UFOs (UnFinished Objects) that you want to finish? Are you having a hard time choosing what to finish next, or are you just not feeling motivated? Do you have some specific goals you want to complete in 2018? This group is for you! We have a fun way to get those projects done in 2018.

                              Here is how it works.

First, you create a list, numbered from 1 - 12, of 1) things you want to finish; 2) OR projects you want to do; 3) OR a combination of 1 and 2. Then, you post your list to this group. (You can edit and change your list at any time.)

Every month, this group will publish a random number between 1 - 12. We will each work on that number from our list. If you prefer to do your list in a particular order, you can certainly do it that way as well. When you have finished your project, please post a picture here as well.

We’re here to support each other. It’s amazing how knowing what project to tackle helps to motivate us to finish what we start.
