I'm FINALLY home (for a couple of weeks anyway)

Made it home to North Carolina last week. Steve had Dr appts M-W-Thurs - F. I have a pre-surgery review on Tuesday (endarterectomy) and then we're non-committed until Dec 10th when we'll be out of town for 3-4 weeks. Surgery and sewing during that time for me, Yeah!

It took us 5 days to get from Hamilton to Chicago. We just moseyed along 2 nights in Lakeside, Iowa and 2 nights in Joliet, IL. There are casinos in those towns and we got complimentary nights and free food so it was worth the stop. And on the plus side we both got to Chicago with more money than we left Cameron with.

The good news is Steve's medication was changed and seems to be working very well. The bad news is that the med change occurred while he was admitted to the hospital in Chicago. Yep - his heart rate was steady at 133 so off to the hospital we went. So that's the 7th hospital stay this year.

Now on to more important things ... I want to thank each and every one of you for an enjoyable retreat. Thanks to Amanda for helping carry my stuff in, Sandy and Peggy Ann for being such fun table mates, all the quilters who contributed to the great door prize table, Cindy and Andrea for my birthday gifts and Cindy for transporting me from the hotel. I've even forgiven those of you who "stole" my selections during the gift swap. (lol) I look forward to this week every year. It lets me celebrate my birthday in a very unique way and takes my mind off Steve's failing health. With gratitude I say again THANK YOU!

Thanks so much for the update - and a giant thank you for the pizza party, the strip game, the laughs and all that other stuff that went around while no one else was looking.

Someone down under wants to hear from you when you have time.

Glad to hear from you, Amanda and I were just talking about the retreat and all you peeps yesterday. Looking forward to seeing you all again next year. Judy, thanks again for adding to the excitement/fun, I have a plan for my strips and can not wait to get at it, maybe after the holidays and all the projects I NEED to finish.

      Happiness is a FULL bobbin!

I am glad to hear that you have made it back home. So sorry for all the health issues that both of you are having. Prayers that 2018 will be a much healthier year for both of you. And looking forward to seeing you next year

I am glad you made it home. I too enjoyed sewing with you and Sandy. Hope we can do that again next year. I have been looking at my strips to figure out what I want to use them for. Of course I get a new idea every other day. I went to get new glasses so I could thread my needle better. Don't get new glasses I get eye surgery. On December 18 I get cataract surgery. No I don't have cataracts. My macula and retina detached and has to be repaired. I get that done December 29 and it will give me a cataract. I have to look down 45 minutes out of every hour for 3-5 days. No pNews years party!! But after that I can get new glasses!!

Judy, Glad to hear you and Steve made it home safely. Thanks for making this years retreat a very happy and enjoyable time. Hope to see you again next year. Good luck with all the medical stuff. As soon as I finish my project with my strips from the strip game, I will post a picture. i think I have settled on a project.
