Re: Week 38 Love is in the air, everywhere I look around.

I love valentines day! We don't normally exchange "gifts" but usually cards and just being extra nice and lovey that day. I don't normally like to go out to dinner on holidays, it's just too crowded. I prefer a romantic dinner at home. Having said that, we went out to dinner last night with my brother and his wife to a place that there weren't a lot of people but the food was good, the music was good and there was even a little dancing!

My honey has on an occasion or two even made me a card. That's even more special!

I love sending all my kids/grandkids cards. It makes them so happy and you can find inexpensive cards out there.

Have a wonderful Valentines day everyone!

My wonderful husband and I make each other gifts for this and other holidays. I treasure his cards as they are so creative.....he includes photos, his own artwork and poems. We shouldn't wait for a holiday to tell those that we love how we feel....hug and kiss them every chance you get. Life is short and time is precious.

        Happy Sewing,
        Rae

Congrats Craftyrad....loved the toll booth "love" story!

My BF and I had our first date on Valentine's Day so is rather extra special to us (well...to me!). One year he was broke so he decided to make a romantic dinner and to suprise me he came home early from work to get dinner ready and had a bubble bath waiting for me when I got home. It was really sweet, especially when he said that he even hid the scale away because he wanted me to be really relaxed! (LOL..men, ya gotta love em!)

This year his son's college baseball team had a tournament planned in Kansas City, MO so we decided to go and spend the weekend with family who live there. I told my boyfriend I didn't want anything for Valentine Day/Anniversary but for him to take me to the Missouri Star Quilt Company! So...his brother and him drove me up there and told me to take my time. It was a wonderful experience and one of the best gifts he's ever given me!

I'm late posting, but Valentine's Day is our anniversary. We've been married 22 years now! AND my husband picked the day - he's always been very sweet, or at least I think so. He gets embarrassed when I tell people he was the one who suggested Valentine's Day & says "it helps me not to forget"! lol That's okay, I know better, and he's a KEEPER! ;-)

Oh, and we usually get a card for each other & often chocolates, but this year we skipped the chocolates. We'll find something as an annivesary gift at some point - nothing WE wanted right now - I told him I wanted fabric & he just looked at me funny.

              Congrats CRAFTYRAD...

I am not a big fan of valentine's day. I tell my family daily that I love and apperciate them. My husband will uaully give me a little card or a rose something small. I rather get flowers because he was thinking of me instead of because everyone else is getting them or their wifes. I get my kids a little something as well... and we usually have a dinner out but the day before or after never mess with the mess of everyone trying to eat out on valentines day!

Re: Week 38 Love is in the air, everywhere I look around.

After 26 years I have finally convinced my husband that when I say don't get me "anything" this year he actually listened. We focused our attention on our 2 year old grandson who needed valentine cards for his day care class, juice and cookies for his little party at day care. Our 5 month grandson was in the hospital so we put aside a valentine card from big brother. Usually we just go out to eat at a nice restaraunt.

                  Congrats Craftyard.

My hubby and I always try to have a quiet dinner alone together for this holiday. As far as gifts go, I know I won the lottery 28 yrs ago, when we married, and he never fails to show me EVERYDAY how much I mean to him,so really what more could I ask for? Of course,he knows chocolate is always appreciated, along with a gift certificate to my fave fabric /quilt shop!!LOL!

DH and I had our traditional Valentines date at Sonic! Honestly, cheeseburgers, tots and a shake...what could be better???

My husband and I keep it very simple. We exchange cards and he did buy me a box of chocolates. In the past he would give me a dozen roses. I asked him please don't spend that kind of $$ on roses in a vase, instead buy me flowers for my garden. We can enjoy those throughout the summer and it was be a constant reminder. He now listens and we just do cards. I get the flowers in Spring.

We keep it pretty low key ...we will buy gifts if we see something special we think the other will like. Some years we go to dinner ...it just depends. I don't think we play in the commercialism too much.

This year I actually planned ahead and made a table runner for my daughter and daughter-in-law for Valentine's Day (photo attached of the little one)! My husband and I just exchange cards but he surprised me with a dozen roses this year??
