Congratulations to BarbaraW! You won the Sand and Surf charm pack. Email me your mailing info and we will ship that out to you asap.

So, today is the hottest day of the year (so far) Yikes! HOT-HOT-HOT! So, to make up for the heat, I'm thinking of winter. A Winter Parade Charm pack from Benartex (by Wilma Sanchez) is what you can win if you answer me this:

Do you parallel park or drive around the block!?!?!? Hahahahaha!! I can't wait to know...

Congratulations Barbara! I had to learn parallel park fire trucks. So the car is a snap, however I must say I haven't done it in a while! I might have to make a second try cause I'm out of practice but I can do it. On the other hand why do it if you don't absolutely don't have to! LOL

I just drive around the block. The parallel parking thing just scares the wits out of me. Being from an extremely small town, the blocks are not very large so it's no biggie to drive and park a block away.

          Congratulations Barbara!
I was going to say I just paralleled parked today, but I cheated. The space was big enough for me to pull in with my Vibe headfirst. I am usually driving a large pickup with a 8 foot bed so there's no way I would even try to parallel park that thing. I have been known to park a few blocks away as our small town's parking spaces fill up fast. Can you hear the kids groaning now?

          Hugs,

I can parallel park if that's all that's available. That is the one thing my mom made me practice over and over and the one thing I aced on my driver's test.

HAHaHa! I laugh every time someone brings this up. I failed my first driving test because I hit the pole on the way out of the space. This happened even after my dad made poles for me to practice with in the street. I was a pro untill the Police man was in the car with me. Now they done make you parallel park to get your license. (at least my kids in Texas didnt have to) Anyway, the experience during my test still haunts me today and I try to parallel park only if there is no other choice and when I think nobody is looking. By the way, I have never hit a car pulling in or out and probably would'nt have hit the pole during my test if it had been a real car.

I drive around the block (unless it is 2 car space), and call it exercise. dmt

My Dad taught me to drive in 1959 at a time when he felt a girl didn't need to drive. He taught me to parallel park our 1956 Pontiac on a dime. Since moving to the suburbs 35 years ago I haven't had to. But given a large enough space I think I could still do it.

I parallel park. It usually takes a few tries though!

                        Congrats Barbara...awesome!
Parallel park or drive around the block? I parallel. It is a personal challenge for me. Don't always make on the first try though but I persevere. My hubby well he tries ONCE if it doesn't work he drives around and around and around...well you get the pricture.

I would rather park in a lot, but if push came to shove, I could parallel park. Thank goodness I have a small car.

I would drive around the block...I would park 5 blocks away...I will NOT parallel park.

Who needs to parallel park just drive into the parking lot. Haven't had to parallel park in along time. I remember one time I parked down town for the Christmas parade and had to backup and turn , backup and turn till my arms felt like they would fall off. Do any of you have trouble looking behind you
to see if you can backup? You really have to look in the parking lots at Wal-mart ,people just walk right on don't stop for anything or anybody. Since I've retired I have trouble turning to see behind me. It can't be my age can it?LOL Yay, Barbara W.
