    WIP - Oct 18-24, 2019

Everyone must be super busy. Hope it's all good.

I spent Friday to Sunday at a retreat with my GF in a beautiful country house, set up for quilters and crafters. The tree colours were spectacular, although we didn't get to walk around much. The rooms are large and there are quilts on all the beds, rooms and on the walls theoughout the 3 floors. It's all equipped with 3-4 pressing stations, island size cutting stations, all the rulers that you can imagine, stocked with rotary cutters, design walls, sewing supplies and every spare sewing machines. It's bright rooms with lots of Windows and great lighting.

I got the hanging gardens quilt top sewed together, although I did need to rip out the 4 patch section of all 25 blocks on the first day. Too much talking and distraction There were 3 quilters in our 60s, the others were 30-44 of age with young children, making clothes for themselves and little ones. They were a creative bunch who have clearly sewn together before. Forgot to take final picture.

Enjoy life and do what makes you happy. Everything else will follow.

Every day I try to do one thing that challenges my comfort zone.

Got a tornado on the ground alert at just past midnight last night. This is the fourth one so far this year. Got dressed and hustled the valuables and ourselves into the tornado shelter (also known as the coat closet haha) in under seven minutes.

I started a new pattern called Kaleidoscope Dreams. It is paper pieced and labeled intermediate level. Have you ever noticed that almost no one rates their patterns as advanced? This is my progress so far.

Suzanne that looks like a lovely quilt retreat center.

Whoa, for all that I live in Kansas, I hate it when the sirens go off. Glad all is safe, Denise!
