Quilting is a way of life. I saw this written on a fellow quilter's FaceBook page. It resonated with me. From my start as a quilter, a little over six years ago, to today, quilting has become, if not a way of life, an important part of my life. It started with my looking for a 'hobby', and my sister's interest in making some jelly roll tote bags. (Of course, we didn't even know what a jelly roll was at the time.) We took a beginners' quilting class, and we were both hooked ... most quilters will be able to finish the rest of the story!
And, I came full circle to attempting garment sewing again. (I last did garment sewing almost 50 years ago!) But, perhaps, calling making pajama pants 'garment sewing' is a bit of a stretch! LOL! I was able to finish Izzy's PJ pants and deliver them to her this past Saturday. She loved them, but unfortunately, even though the measurements were correct, the pants were a bit small.
The next morning, there was a split in them!
So, I took them back home with me, and I am going to try to add a gusset to correct the problem. My mother always said to buy pajamas a size larger for the comfort factor - perhaps that applies to sewing them as well?
While visiting, Izzy completed the rest of the first part of the Double Slice quilt. She chain pieced 25 blocks, and we then had fun seeing how the 25 blocks stretched from the living room through the dining room!
Now, for me, I see doing some repairs this week, and then, well, I haven't chosen what I will work on next. What about you?
