    WIP - 11/9/16 - My problem isn't .....

    14925691_10154242488517261_6638485996731158094_n.jpg

Hoping everyone is doing well today, and that you got a chuckle out of this meme!

I am SO happy to report that I finished my bed quilt (although I better make one more check to make sure I buried all the threads!). I don't have a picture yet, but I will post as soon as I do. Next, I experiment with the FMQ practice piece to find out if I can put the quilt in the dryer, or if it has to be air dried. The batting is wool; I bought it off a bolt, and I don't have any washing instructions for it. I'm happy I have the practice piece for this testing.

Next I am going to make the reading pillow for Izzy's birthday. I need to get pictures of the pillows too. And, then the Christmas pajama pants for everyone. I just remembered I ordered some more flannel - it just might be in my mailbox today. It is always fun to get some quilting mail!

Please share what you are working on this week.

You've been very productive! Anxious to here about the wool batting and how it turns out.
I always love when I get packages in the mail too!

Sylvia, I bet it is beautiful.

Unbelievably, I finished the last dog quilt. Hurray! Now to use up the rest of the leftover flannel making belly bands for the rescue group. Then it will be on to something fun.

I look forward to seeing the quilt and the reading pillow.

I tried a random wavy line with the walking foot on my grinch quilt. I don't care for it.......so now I'm trying to decide on a FMq design. I'm "skeered" to start the FMQ. Can't remember if I mentioned this.....I got my new thimble and Poke a Dot thimble dots in the mail and I like them both. It's much easier for me to use and my hand stitches are getting better. I've been doing some hand quilting while watching Longmire.

I took a paper piecing class on Saturday. It is a Judy Niemeyer pattern - seasonal. I am just doing the middle circle, since I have round tables. 3 more flying geese segments to go!

                  pouches for Unicef.jpg

Working on sewing zipper pouche for the Unicef booth in december to help raise money for kids. My family donates money every year but we also try to collaborate in this other way. I want to make at least 10 zipper pouches and a Pigotta (rag doll).

                    Re: WIP - 11/9/16 - My problem isn't .....

Had a lovely sew day with my oldest sister this weekend we had such fun chatting and sewing and I showed her a lot of new tricks to make her life easier. Was patting myself on the back for how much I got down till I realized my stitch length had gotten bumped up from 2.5 to 4 and that I had just sewn all of my strip sets that way or at least most of them. so I think I need to go over them or rip them out and redo them. Sigh.

Got my owl quilt all quilted and ready for binding not a huge fan of my FMQ in the borders don't feel it suits the fabric but its done and my niece won't care so I left it. Lots on my plate this week but hope to finish off a few table runners that are laying around. Get my husbands quilt finally quilted and then move on to one of the King size UFO's. We shall see if my mental list lives up to the physical one lol.
Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.
