Re: seems we all need a little... FLASH SEWING TIME!

I have been cutting away for my grandson's quilt. However, I can't decide if I want to make it all the black print with the solid gold, the gold print with the solid black, or a combination of both? What do you all think? I have three grandsons to make quilts for and two are going to be Steeler quilts made from the Quick Curve Ruler and in this pattern so I'm cutting up enough pieces for two quilts...just need to decide if one will be the black print with the solid gold and the other the gold print with the solid black or both of them a combination of both??? Any suggestions? Back to getting my cutting done by 6P!

    Hugs!

I need to stay away from my layout board! Another layout! I kinda like this one for one of them. Decisions, decisions! Almost done with cutting the fabric!Steeler quilt 3 (800x565).jpg

I like the mix and match design! Makes it visually more interesting! Be sure to show us the final product, it will be great, I know. And then advice on how to use that ruler! I've seen tutorials on it.

Re: seems we all need a little... FLASH SEWING TIME!

I'm done cutting! Thanks for the motivation. I actually cut enough pieces to make enough blocks for all three grandsons! I've decided I'm going to do the "combination" quilt for all three! I really like the look of that also. I'll make the backing different on each (Haven't decided what I'm going to do for the backings yet). But I did more than what I set out to do today! I'll post finished quilt tops when done...I'll need another motivational flash sew! Hugs! Debbie

Yeah I got OFF the computer and went in and grab the inspiration on here -- Got a ton of 4 patches and real 1/2 squares cut AND ironed *excited* now!!! I'm not stopping at 6 pm, it's only 4:30 here so almost 2 more hours to make myself do something -- Glad to see this does motivate us all!!

*Sewing Machines around the Globe* hmm that's another good title for the next FLASH Sewing

Do you think with the Iron Quilter, and of course Christmas we should have these more often?

What about every 2 weeks until Christmas? Thank you all, I personally need the kick in the pants too sometimes and just reading what projects you all are working on helps Motivate me ! Wonderful people on here for sure

No pictures. I worked all day and did get something done but about half of it was frogging. I am working on a quilt in the current F&P magazine that uses Deb Tucker's rapid fire Hunter's Star ruler. There is one heck of a lot of cutting, piecing, more cutting, more piecing and even more trimming up. I am about to do the final trimming to square up the blocks but that will have to wait for Monday. After the blocks are made that will be put on a back burner and I will attack my Lovely charms with a vengeance.
I only threw the Hunter's star into the mix since I was able to borrow the ruler from a friend and want to get it back to her soon.

Gracie Ann your FMQ is looking very nice (depending on which part of the quilt I'm looking at I suppose, but I was loving those nifty feathers!)

I finished my Single Irish Chain top complete with boarders, I just finished to late to have some natural light to take the picture. I will try tomorrow. Thanks for the added motivation, I needed that.

I finished all four patches for DHs quilt back and sewed the first row together with sashing.

Grace-Ann, your fmq looks pretty good, the feathers are great. I haven´t even attempted to fmq anything. My machine´s throat is six inches or so. I need a bigger sewing machine...
