I'm very new to quilting, taking my first class, and we've made a few different blocks, but I know I'm in over my head on this one. I found a pattern for a small lone star quilt using only three colors so I decided to try. You sew two strips together then cut small strips at a 45 degree angle. But I don't know how to measure the width of the small strip and mine don't line up correctly.
I started with 2 inch strips, sewed two together. How wide should the small diagonal strips be, and which way do I measure that?
Confused
