  • Is there an easier way?

Bought Inman Park pattern on Etsy and although I like the scrappy pattern I don't like the many small pieces which make up the blocks - nothing was said about that in the description. Anyone know an easier way to get the same effect without all the fiddley cutting. Thanks for any ideas.

Maybe strip piecing then subcutting? Sorta like bargello.

Yes, lots of small pieces, here is my own version. I made mine while making other
quilts. I used my pieces as leaders and enders, broke down the pattern as "blocks",
it was not so overwhelming that way.

Does anyone know if there's another name, besides Inman Park, for this lovely quilt? I'm sure I've seen a tutorial or a pattern like it, but with a different name.

I made this from a kit. It was frustrating. You have to make sure the seams are exactly in the center of the pieces above and below. I did not realize this at first so I have some rectangles chopped off! I was'nt about to "unsew" anything.

The tricky part about the "Scrappy Look" it it's generally made of those fiddly little bits of leftover fabric.

I admire the people who have the fortitude to create those scrappy works of art. I aspire to have the patience to make a scrappy project one day.

I would try it with short strip sets for variety. Cut each strip as wide as the length of the individual pieces.
