  • Wood Frame for Basting Quilt

Sorry if this question has been asked, but I am looking for plans to build a wooden frame for basting quilts. If you have plans that you would like to share, I would be appreciative.

    Thanks in advance!!

Good luck. Sorry, I'm of no help.

I don't have plans, but my neighbour made one for me based on my GF's old one. He made it more solid. It's 12' so I can sandwich King. The only change I would make now is to have the ability to cantilever the take-up bars. That way I could use it as a huge quilt rack. Here's a few pictures.

My DH built one for me with a Hinterberg frame kit a few years ago. The kit is now $155 and it does not include the 3 bars or the lumber for the frame, just the hardware needed to operate it. It does have all the instructions however. I only paid $75 for the same kit. Sigh, anything quilt related now costs a small fortune. Just look at the price of rulers.
No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted.
