    Needles......

What size and brand do you use for your piecing and/or quilting? Massdrop has Schmetz micro tech needles..... 100 for 49.99 with different sizes available. Is that a good deal? And if so, what size is best?

Thanks in advance for any and all advise!!

Organ Sharp points are interchangeable with Schmetz micro tech needles and much lower priced.

I use 80/12 for piecing with 50 weight cotton thread and 90/14 for quilting with 50 weight cotton thread. Here is my favorite source with a 100 pack for $11.99 including free shipping.

I have Bernina machines so I buy
            Bernina needles. I use 70/10.
I tried the Schmetz needles didn't like them at all.
My suggestion would be to check your machines
Manuel and see what needle is recommended.

Yes, I bought some on that deal. They are the microtex so they are good for thicker, more difficult things as they are very sharp. I got the sz14 because I already have a box of sz 12.

Are those sharper than organ in the greyish package? I have several of those and use them in my brother but I have not used the green package.

Not a good deal in my opinion. I bought that same thing of needles from MassDrop before but I didn't pay that much. Maybe it's because of the time when you joined the drop?

Superior Threads Titanium Topstich 70, 80 and 90

I have heard that Organ is/was the top selling needle and wanted to partner with Superior Threads, but the latter declined because of some quality assurance issues. I do see that Superior Threads sells Organ needles in addition to its own needles.
