    Beginner quilt project ideas??

Hello ladies, Im hoping my quilt will be complete next week. God willing!!
I need an idea on a new quilt to start. I need something easy that I wont become too frustrated with (if there is such a thing...lol). I was hoping you ladies would have some ideas.

A Ragtime quilt is super easy. I've made several using flannel squares. But they are really nice made with homespun, too. I have a picture of one I made with flannel in my album here on the forum.

The disappearing nine-patch is really easy and pretty but anything using pre-cuts would be a good idea. Have a look at the tutorials the MSQ girls have done. They are really easy to understand and give you lots of good ideas

I did a rail fence for my first quilt with a jelly roll and it was super easy! Good luck and have fun whatever you choose.

I was going to suggest rail fence too because you can use as many rails as you like in each block. I've seen them done with 3, 4 or 5 rails. Plus, depending on which way you turn your blocks, there are alot of variations in the final layout that you decide on. I did one with 4 colors. You could tie all the colors you use on the front to a backing on the back.

The stacked coin quilts are also really easy... but if you don't want to attempt something big, I also recommend potholders or doll quilts. (All the little girls in my neighborhood now have doll quilts for just about every doll they own.) There are great tutorials all over the web, and they let you practice your skills without being overwhelming.

My first quilt was a log cabin. I had several Quilt in a Day books, and have found them very easy to follow. One of my co-workers who quilts loves to buy panels and just put boarders around them. I love to do piecing, and have begun to work on paper piecing because I do not have to have perfect cuts. What ever you do, make sure you have instructions you can understand, and then have fun.
