    Re: Checkered Dresden Tutoriall Question

Did you get the answer to your question? I went to look at the tutorial real quick because I couldn't remember what Jenny did, but she used 4 different colors in each blade. She had a 'dark' blade and a 'light' blade and she rotated those two. I think she was defining dark and light by the color at the top of the blade. If you mix your strips when you sew them together and rotate the template as you cut, you will get the alternating blades. Hope that helps.

    Here's the simple math:

40 divided by however many different fabrics you are using will equal the # of strips per fabric.

    Thank you..
    Can you explain the math?

So based on that, if I had 4 red fabrics, I would cut 2 of each red.. and so on for other colors.

I used to be good at Math..not sure what happened

If you are making it the same size and equal amount of each color you would need 8 strips of each of your 5 colors.

    Checkered Dresden Tutoriall Question

    Thanks in Advance..

I am sure this is a dumb newbie question. I have listened to this tutorial 3 times!

I am wanting to make this quilt, using my own colors.
What I cannot figure out is how many strips of each color I need.

I think she used 40 strips.

    So if my colors were:
    red
    white
    black
    blue
    orange

How many 2.5" strips do I need of each of the colors above?

    Please help
