Which kind of needle do you use for FMQ? - sharp or embroidery (ballpoint)

I get better results with a sharp. If I am FMQ batiks or through fusible I use a sharp top stitch.

FMQ should be done with a quilting (sharp) Topstitch 90-14 needle. The larger eye gives more room for the thicker thread to move through.

Good to know. I've just been using a universal needle.
