Happy New Year everybody! I recently started making Jenny's table runner from her tutorial from a few years ago, I actually made 3. One was a Christmas gift, liked it so much made one (out of a different charm pack) for myself, and now I am making a non-holiday gift for a friend. I used Moda "Behind the Scenes" which I think has a very nice modern/industrial look to it. The first two runners I used scrap cotton batting and quilted with a long "S" stitch on my Viking sewing machine. I do not "stitch in the ditch!" They came out very nice. I thought I would switch things up and use a fancier stitch on my machine for this one. However, I noticed, after I started, that if I stitch in the other direction, where they cross would look pretty ugly. So I only stitched the seams in one direction. I used a fusible fleece, ironed to the backing material. It was all I had on hand. My question is, will the stitching be enough only "half done." And does it look good? I kind of like it. Suggestions?
