I've made a big mistake and not sure I can fix it
Yesterday I was ironing binding for a quilt and needed to put more water in my iron. I just use regular tap water and never have problems. Well, my daughter had brought up what I thought was a glass of water, there was just a little bit left and being the lazy person I am, figured I would use that instead of walking all the way to the bathroom get get a fresh glass of water.
When the iron got hot, it started smelling funny. I mentioned it and said something about using that water. It wasn't water in the glass, it was Coke! I've drained the iron, rinsed it out several times, ran a whole reservoir of water through on the hottest setting and it's still spewing brown coke
. When I put what I thought was the water, it looked clear, I couldn't even tell it was coke.
Any chance I can salvage this iron? Any ideas? Thanks.
