Help!!!! How do I make this variation of the Friendship Star block

Hi there!!

I am trying to make the block in this quilt. How can do I piece it so that I get those diagonal lines.... The finished block size would need to be around 8" to match the other blocks.

you need to put solid squares in the center and the corners. The rest is 1/2 square triangles

I outlined the construction of the block in blue. It's basically 16 small squares; some are solid squares and some are half-square triangles. Does this help?

Alternatively, you could do flying geese on the sides and tops with different colors, small solid squares in the corners, and a large solid square in the center, but that might be more difficult. If you can see it, however, you can do it!
