1 pack of 10 inch squares (layer cake), plus 1 pack of 2 1/2 inch strips (jelly roll)!

    Hi,
I have a question. I'm looking for an easy-enough quilt pattern that uses 1 pack of 10 inch squares (or 4 charms) plus one pack of 2 1/2 inch strips. I have these two things in the Land of the Free Stonehinge pattern, and I'm looking for a quick pattern for a Christmas present. I also have a little more than a yard of solid cream that matches and almost a yard of a solid red that matches.

I'm considering the "Cross walk" pattern from Jenny's tutorials. Any other ideas?

This one looks like you put your all into it, but you don't have to cut anything but the sashing.

How about Square in a Square? It uses charms, a jelly roll and a honey bun (or 1.5 inch background). I'm starting this quilt in January with a group of mother/daughters.

I made a quilt from that pattern and it had a lot of cuts in it. I thought it was just too busy so, using the blocks whole would be my suggesting. HEres what mine turned out like.patriotic.jpg

The Square in a Square is sometimes referred to as Square Dance.

              That's beautiful!

So, is it a 5 inch square surrounded by 1 1/2" strips surrounded by 2 1/2" strips? How much of the jelly roll strip is left over? Is that where you got the fabric for the piano key border?
