What pattern is this?

Can anyone identify the pattern used in the batik quilt?

At first glance it looks like a bunch of jelly rolls sewn together, cut and bordered by the same size strips. And panels cut to fit, bordered as well. I wouldn't think a pattern would be necessarily needed. It's very rich looking, isn't it?

I am a fairly new quilter, started just a year ago so not really sure how to do this pattern from scratch. Any extra help or feedback is greatly needed...thank you.

I looks to me like a wonderful Kaffee Fasset, or Tula Pink, Amy Bradlee,,, Anna Maria Horner.... any of those designers offer the beautiful and bold colors of this quilt...
As for piecing... it alternating, a solid large floral block that is "sashed /bordered" with a solid color. The size of this block should be the same as the size of the alternating block that is "strip pieced" ie,,, some JellyRoll strips or cut pieces/strips or many different prints and cut into a square. Looks about 8 strips to me... They are placed alternating as well,,, one vertical and another horizontal.. This is also bordered with a solid color..
I hope this helps you go down the road of "creating your own work"... Something like this does not requre a "pattern",,, only a little pre planning of each block coming out the same size))) Go for it.... This is a beautiful quilt and one simple enough to quilt yourself!!! Hugs, GB

If my math is correct, the size of the large floral block will be 19.5 inches (before adding the solid sashing) assuming you use the standard 2.5" strips in the corresponding 8 strip piece. Basically, once you sew 8 strips together, measure how "high" that is and cut it the same length - it should be pretty close to 19.5 square. Just make you large floral block the same size. with blocks that big, this should go together really fast for you. Pretty quilt. You will be able to get 2 blocks out of each 8 piece strip set so if you go three across (which after adding the sashing is going to be close to 72" inches) and 3 down, then you would need 2 sets of 8 strip pieces.

Hmm, I wonder if those strips are 1 1/2" as in a Honey Bun. That would make the strip set 8 1/2" square then adding the sashing (1 1/2') would make it a 10 1/2" block. Then the floral fabric would be 8 1/2" square with 1 1/2" sashing making it also 10 1/2" block.

I think you two are right that it's 1.5" strips. It's all or mostly Kaffe Fassett fabrics, and judging by the scale of some prints the strips are not very wide.

Does it look hand pieced to anyone? Maybe even wool batting, it seems a little puffier than the standard quilt.

Good luck with your adventure, you can surely study this quilt and any tips given and make a beautiful quilt. Really, I think you could make any size block you want and just size the strips accordingly. The only math involved is for seam allowances, not complicated at all.

This could be layer cake friendly if you cut your strips first. Maybe less strips so you don't lose so much size. Square that off and then square off the plain one. I have a Kaffe cake and will keep this one in mind!!
