    Dresden plate quilt

Looking for some input...I am working on a Dresden plate quilt for a new grand baby coming soon. It's a boy so I want to keep it simple. Appliqué quilts I have seen usually have a decorative stitching but I am toying with just leaving it machine stitched and no decorative. Opinions welcome...

Here's a bunch of free applique's that would be cute for a little boy: http://www.fatcatpatterns.com/freepatterns.html

      Do you mean the top-stitching?

Yes, the top stitching. I have a great quilter but I am wondering about decorative top stitching.

I did a buttonhole stitch around the outside and the circle on my Dresden. I thought it added a little detail.

I would vote for either straight stitch or blanket stitch around each of the blades and the center circle.

I like the blanket stitch also.

You could do a simple straight stitch if that is what you would prefer.
