Need suggestions on machine quilting specific quilt

I'm hoping to get feedback/suggestions on what type of machine quilting I should do on a quilt (random, stipple, straight lines, outlines etc.).

I did post a photo on the album called -Quiltincin

The quilt has so many different kinds of star blocks that I am not sure how to move forward...I'm stuck!

I would probably do an all over meander with a variegated thread

It's all batiks so I was thinking maybe nylon (see thru) thread? I've never used it before, but thought this might be a time to try?

I was also thinking stitch in the ditch but that out, because I'm very very bad at landing "in the ditch".

watch Recycled Quilts on youtube and it will free you up to do any kind of quilting without worrying about the quilt police. I am having much more fun than I used to with my quilting, loving it. You don't have to worry about crossing over you lines, just go for it and have fun, don't stress over it.

Whatever quilting you do I would keep it simple because the quilt is so spectacular! I personally wouldn't stitch in the ditch. To me ditch stitching is just too much work . How about a simple cross hatch with your walking foot or just some wavy lines which came also be done with your walking foot. I like the idea of a variegated thread too.

If it was my quilt - I would probably do a meander all over the quilt - and with all the colors and black - I would be tempted to try using the Aurifil Smoke Invisible Monofilament thread. Good luck - it is a very striking quilt!

                        Hi Surfergirl
Is there a specific recycled quilt YouTube video you recommend, that will emancipate me from the quilt police? I would very much like to love doing this. :-). To date, not so much. Thanks
