Thank you all for your help. I was not measuring through middle. I appreciate the link, too. Next quilt, no waves!!!

I also use this method. It's a great no math way to go!

Using a walking foot may help.
You maybe pulling the border fabric,
    and stretching the fabric.

You may need to measure your quilt top better.
Sounds as though your borders are too long.
The extra length makes the border wavy.
As mentioned, when adding a border, divide the quilt
and border into sections, pin well.

Do you square up after you have the border on? After I attach the border, I will measure from the seam to the outside edge and trim anything over that amount. The eye will not notice that the border is 5" in one spot and 4-7/8" in another.

What works for me - measure your quilt down the middle and cut your borders to that size. Divide your border and quilt into quarters and pin at least at those spots and at both ends. When you sew your border on - make sure the border fabric is on top. The feed dogs pull the fabric underneath a bit more than it does the top. Hope that helps.

I just pin mine carefully before sewing. Never had a problem that way.

    Do your borders seem wavy???

I have had this happen several times. I make the quilt top and then attached the border, but then the outer edge seems a bit wavy. I have to work with it to do the binding.

Is there a technique I don't know about?? I'd really love some suggestions.
Working...
