Re: Ideas for a pattern
How about the denim circle rag quilt. No batting and when you've sewn the top it's done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_hKEDmxQwM

Denim quilts are pretty and toasty warm. Here is a link to photos for some ideas.

Re: Ideas for a pattern
Sewluvit, I see that you are from Saskatchewan too.
Just the pattern I need. Most of my pieces would be perfect for a square of that size with little waste. Thanks.

Re: Ideas for a pattern
Since denim is thick, making seams even thicker,
a simple, large pieces block works the best.
Usually squares works the best.
Denim also makes for a very heavy quilt,
so keep this in mind when you decide on use,
and how big you want to make your quilt.
Denim quilts usually do not have batting.

Re: Ideas for a pattern
We have a Mormon thrift shop in town where they are selling denim quilts made with 8 inch squares of denim pieced together then seams pressed open and a narrow strip of plain or printed cotton is sewn over the raw seams. I wish I knew how to add a picture. So they are just that one layer and quite attractive. The denim is cut from old jeans so it is all shades.

Yay, may you have many years of happy memories in your new home. What about a rail fence pattern?? Lots of possibilities for that.

Ideas for a pattern
We moved and FINALLY I have unpacked and found spots for my sewing and crafting supplies and machines. Any ideas for a denim quilt? I have lots of colors that I bought at a sale. I would like to use 3 or 4 colors in a block or a rectangular block.Tags: None
