Hi, I purchase grey honeybun to make floating blocks quilts.. now have many left over.. what other quilt designs and colors that would look good to use .. I was thinking of using some dive girlie charms , not sure if that grey would look good with it.. thanks for any ideas..

there are a lot of tutorials using blacks and whites and shades of grey. There was a great post in the last two weeks of someone who did a beautiful monochrome quilt. Or, just put a few of them together with some colors and make some placemats. pinks, yellows, reds, blacks, ...success is walking from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiam

I've used white Honey Buns for the lattice in a lattice baby quilt with bright colors. I can see grey being used in the same manner for a larger quilt with more muted colors.

I use grey quite often in quilts, even though my mother thinks that BG fabric should only be white. I have never bought a solid color honey bun or jelly roll ( I buy yardage to save money and cut my own strips), but it sure would be nice to have in the stash instead of cutting bunches of those wee strips for sashing. Maybe you'll make some project in the future that you'll need the same color yardage for, hang on to them for a while.Last edited by SisterDi; August 19, 2016, 11:12 PM.
