I was hoping you could share some ideas of marking fabric with quilt designs. I have always done free motion but I want to start quilting more consistent elaborate designs and I need something that can be removed easily. Thanks!

Re: Ideas for marking quilt designs
Crayola Ultra Clean Washable Markers. Found mine in the school supply section at my local Walmart. Make sure you get the "Ultra" version to be sure it can be removed.
Stash Treasure Acquisitions Beyond Life Expectancy. My stash keeps me STABLE, oh yeah.... and dark chocolate.

Re: Ideas for marking quilt designs
Sulky makes a water soluble product called Fabri-solvi that you can run through a printer. Once you peel the paper off and apply, you stitch on the design and the rest will wash out. It's kind of thick, and I found it washed out better in the washing machine better than just trying to wet it in the sink. It can be pricey, so I only use it when I have a design I want to be more consistent than my usual freehand quilting.
I've also used Golden Threads paper, but it always tears apart when I use it and I find it frustrating. Maybe I'm not doing something correctly, but I did try a few times and had the same result.

Re: Ideas for marking quilt designs
I just read a blog this morning where you mark your quilt, and then you apply some kind of disolver. I had never heard of this but always wondered how longerarmers marked with no marks if that makes sense.
