    I am totally confused

I am totally confused at to which way to press my sashing going up and down so that the sashing with the corner stone going across will nest. Guess I need to put it on my design wall and try to figure it out. There is sashing between each block across (4) and on the top and bottom of each block (5) going down-Yikes!!!

Just pick one and go for it. Your thinking too hard about it. Just do the swirl and it won't matter.

I press the vertical sashing strips between the blocks all in one direction. First row goes one direction, 2nd row goes the other. I alternate every other row. If you make the horizontal sashing strips individual to each block, incl. cornerstones, you can plan ahead how to press so most seams will nest. I don't do horizontal sashing like Jenny does--all one long strip. It's more accurate & easier to sash each block as you go.

I usually press the seams in towards the sashing and out on the cornerstones. That way, if there is bulk at the edges of the blocks themselves I am not making it even more bulky.
