I just finished sandwiching two quilts this morning. There has got to be a better way. My back is killing me. I'm not a spring chick and have osteoarthritis but I'm not letting that stop me from doing my own housework and quilting.
I use the spray baste method. This time I used my quilters ironing board which is 6 feet long and about 18 inches wide. There is lots of re-positioning with this method and shifting and repositioning a bed sized quilt is hard for me. This time I carried my ironing board outside and did the quilt under a cover on concrete.
I have watched videos of different methods but most of them say this will also work with a bed sized quilt but they only show a throw or a baby quilt. Most all of the quilts I piece are bed sized quilts. I have two camp tables that I have used in the past but they are too low and that is uncomfortable also. Does anyone know if there are risers that might fit the legs of my camp tables?
Please if you have any tips share them. Meantime, I better go take some Aleve.
