    Seaming mystery!

I was just responding to the thread about seaming and I got to thinking about the Janome Memorycraft 12000. In the quilting stitches section of my machine there is a setting for 1/4" and a setting for 7mm. At first, I got excited because I thought that 7mm was a scant 1/4" setting. A quarter inch is actually 6.25mm so that actually makes the seam slightly larger instead of slighter more narrow than a quarter inch. What on earth would one need a slightly larger seam for? Talk about disappointed....Any idea?

    According to this website:

"•Note: the 7 mm seam allowance (instead of 1/4”) is commonly used in Asian markets."

Gotta love the internet. Thanks, Caroline. Love your name, too. My daughter is named Caroline.

I've noticed the same thing, Rebecca. I just move my needle to where I get the width seam I want.
