    Latest project - suggestions please.

My primary physician and his wife (both MD's in the same office) have had their first baby. A boy over 19 lbs and 22 inches long. I saw my Dr. on Wednesday and teased him about sleep deprivation and he laughed and said the little one had slept from 12:30 am until 5:30 am, but he (my Dr.) woke three times to check on the little one. LOL

I want to make a baby quilt for the little one. They have done the nursery in animals and lots of colors. I found I had a charm pack with animals and colors so I'm making just a simple 4 patch for the Drs. I arranged the blocks and wondered if anyone sees any blocks that should be moved due for better contrast. The lower corner I couldn't get in the pic, but I'm posting one of just the corner also.

    Suggestions are welcome.

19 pounds??????? that poor lady, I sure hope you meant 9 pounds!

The only thing I see is the three polka dots ones close together. The green and blue, bright blue and white and the light blue and white maybe should be separated a little more. Other than that, I think it looks great!

      Looks great to me!

With a baby that big he probably eats enough to allow him to sleep most of the night. That is like having a 6 month old

Oh my gosh, yes, that's got to be a typo. Please tell us it's a typo Bob!

Looks good to me. Random is random.

You can drive yourself nuts trying to get the perfect arrangement. The way it is is charming(pun intended).

I bet Bob meant >9 lb. (not 19). A baby that big would need to be delivered by C-Sec! My first one was 9 lb. 5 oz.; he was a whopper. He barely wore those newborn sizes 0-3 mos. but once or twice, & he was on to the next size. All those newborn sized clothes were like new for my 2nd boy who weighed 7 lb. 11 oz.

Love all the bright colors in your fabrics, Bob. I see 3 green blocks (dif. fabrics) all in a row, which (if it were me) I would probably switch around. I'm sure it will be fine no matter how you arrange it.

The baby was over 9 lbs. My mistake. Sometimes I worry about myself.

Your quilt looks great - and so glad it wasn't a 19 lb baby!! My 5th son weighed 10 lb 4 oz and I wasn't sure we'd both make it! He was supposedly 8 lbs according to the ultrasound! Anyway, I like your quilt and think it is a very kind jesture!

I think it looks fine. Both my girls were big, one was 9lbs 5 oz and the other 8lbs 6oz. Because of their size, they both slept all night from the day they were born. One of my sisters had a 10lbs 12oz boy and we had to go out and buy three month sizes because newborns were all too small!

We're just all breathing a sigh of relief for the mother.

I'd just space out the polka dot squares a bit more. It looks lovely and is a wonderful gesture for you to do. And yes, phew....I'm glad I can stop wincing too!! LOL!

Please don't worry about yourself. There are enough of us here who tend to worry about you.

I had a physician boss one time who weighed 18 pounds when he was born. TRUE! His mother was about 5 foot tall and bigger around than she was tall. He used to joke that if they measured around from her feet to the top of her head she'd be over 6 foot.
