    cathedral window quilt

Using the circle magic template and layer packs, how many packs would I need for a queen size quilt? I want to do the backs out of light and dark greys and the middles out of passion batiks.

Laura.....I do not have this template. but, measure the distance of the lines marked for the seams one the cirlce is complete. Looking at the video(s), I can guesstimate the finished block size is 6 inches?

If it is 6 inches from seam to seam.....a double sized quilt is 78X87, a queen is 84X92.......it could take up to 4-5 layer cakes (top side only) to create that pattern, that size......

I maybe wrong, hopefully someone else can hoin the discussion!

Are you actually making the REAL cathedral windows quilt, or is it the FAUX cathedral windows quilt? Because the real version will require waaaay more yardage.

not the one where you fold the square in half, then fold the flaps in, etc. That seems like a waste of material and time to me. The magic circle one is a finished quilt when you get done sewing the circles together. Seems like a much better idea.
